Science Spring Term 2020
This term the children have enjoyed using their skills of scientific enquiry to investigate what happened when the gingerbread man fell into the river and got wet. The children enjoyed squirting colour onto the biscuits and then watching the effects of him getting wet and soggy!
During science week we also explored how our bodies digest food using bananas, bread and a pair of tights. The children enjoyed squeezing the food through the tights.
Science Autumn 2
Lime class really enjoyed exploring colour during our science lessons this term. This linked nicely with our focus artist Kadinsky during art week who loved to use and mix bold colours. We explored different colours on the light panel through looking through cellophane viewers and exploring different coloured objects.
Science Autumn 1 2019
Lime class have been busy working on developing their skills of scientific exploration and understanding through a range of multi sensory activities. We love using sensory exploration to find out more about different materials and objects. We started the year by making a tactile hand picture which involved choosing and feeling lots of different tactile materials such as sandpaper, cotton wool and rice. We then made edible paint and explored the effects of using it to paint bread. We also enjoyed exploring Autumn objects such as leaves, pine cones, conkers, wood and pumpkins using the light panel and in the water tray - it weas fun to see which objects sunk and floated.
