Literacy
In class we do our literacy in many different ways:
We do daily reading, either of our own books, or online with the Bug Club reading scheme. We have a daily class story session where we might explore sensory items or use props to help us understand the story and act out some role-play and all this is promoting their love of reading.
In phonics we practise the alphabet with a daily song and then explore the different phase sounds through reading, writing, sensory letters and playing eye-spy! We practise our writing with pencils, crayons and colours and we are working on composing our own captions, labels and sentences.
